Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team |

|
Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, part of Walsall’s Local Policing Area (LPA). Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of some of the activities that we have done recently.
Some things that we have been doing on our patch recently: PCSO’s have visited Walsall College to support the College Streetwatch. The group of Protective Service students and PCSO’s patrolled through Walsall Town Centre, engaging with both businesses and members of the public. The students noted some ASB issues from their patrol and delt with them in an appropriate manner So, if you are around the town look out for the students wearing hi viz Streetwatch vests.
For our recent Safer Business Action week officers have conducted numerous crime prevention advice surgeries at local businesses including banks and the larger retail stores in the Town Centre. Also, as well as the Town Centre, the retail and leisure parks on the out skirts of the Town saw more patrols taking place.
For Sceptre week Officers have conducted a knife sweeps at the Arboretum Park, Walsall Town Centre, St Matthews Church and the surrounding areas also a knife arch was deployed at both Walsall College and in Walsall. Nothing was found. With the patrols in and around Walsall Town leaflets about PCSO’s were able to educate members of the public on knife crime prevention.
Officers have patrolled the Caldmore area due to ongoing issues with vehicles parking on double yellow lines and zig zags, vehicles that have been causing an obstruction has been noted and will be receiving a fine in due course.
